Sep 08, 2016· I am searching for an article that I thought I saw in a recent magazine, but now cannot find. Perhaps someone else remembers seeing this. It was an article about using a rolling mill to pattern metal and there was a side bar about using a scrapbook die cutter to cut paper patterns. If you saw this, please send the reference. Thanks! Ellen Harris
Rollerprint Patterns™ are paper that has been engraved/cut by a laser to produce low relief textures and designs. They are designed for use with a rolling mill to impart the design/texture onto soft metal. The paper patterns can also be used to pattern other mediums such as metal clay.

The rolling process is shown in Fig. 2.1: Rolling is done both hot and cold. It is accomplishes in rolling mills. A rolling mill is a complex machine having two or more working rollers, supporting rollers, roll stands, drive motor, reducing gear, flywheel, coupling gear etc. Rollers may be plain or grooved depends upon the shape of rolled product.

The Hot Rolling Process The primary function of the Hot Strip Mill is to reheat semi-finished steel slabs of steel nearly to their melting point, then roll them thinner and longer through 12 successive rolling mill stands driven by motors totaling 77,000 hp, and finally coiling up the lengthened steel sheet for transport to the next process.
In a metal rolling process, rolls, stands, bearings, housing, motors, and other mechanical equipment are all a necessary part of the manufacturing operation. The place where all the equipment for metal rolling manufacture is set up is called a rolling mill. Rolling mills often vary in .
Requirements of Rolling Mills should be considered: Rolls cost: It represents the 5% of the direct cost of a strip sheet rolling mill and 10% including the operation of the roll workshop. Cost of no-quality: The inlaid calamine because of the roll represents 150 000 € up to 450 000 € /year depending on the type of Hot Strip Rolling Mill.
